Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Ascher is currently the Chief Medical Officer of Sun River Health. In this role, she serves as the clinical lead for the largest FQHC on the East Coast and oversees Adult Medicine, Pediatrics, Women’s Health (outpatient and labor & delivery), Infectious Disease, Medication Assisted Treatment, Pain Management, Physical Therapy, Podiatry, Optometry, and Behavioral Health including mental health services and substance use services. Dr. Ascher is responsible for all areas of Clinical Quality and Continuous Quality Improvement for 48 health centers.
Dr. Ascher earned her Doctor of Medicine from the New York University School of Medicine and her Bachelor’s of Arts in English Literature from Columbia College. Dr. Ascher completed her training in Internal Medicine at NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center, completed a Clinical Quality Fellowship, is an Institute for Healthcare Improvement certified Improvement Advisor, and volunteered abroad on several continents. She has over 35 years of medical experience and is passionate about getting the care right.
