AI Power Hours: Hiring your first 5 AI employees
Everyone's talking about agentic workflows. Very few founders have actually built one that does real work.
This was our most requested topic last round, so we're going deeper. How much of your business can you hand off to agents and what does that look like when you build it?
What this is
We'll set up a small team of AI "employees" in Claude Code OpenAI’s new Dots, each with one job and watch them pass work to each other.
→ Pick your five. Accounting, legal, research, customer support, sales. Which parts of each role are frequent, rule-based and low risk if the agent gets it wrong. That's where you start.
→ How an agent actually gets built. Where it lives, what you tell it and how it's different from a scheduled task in a chat window. We'll build one from scratch so you can see every step.
→ Agents working together. A live example: an invoice comes in, one agent checks the amount, another logs it to your books and a coordinator decides what needs your attention. You'll see how each one knows who to hand off to.
→ Where you still sign off. If you're approving 20 steps, there's no point automating it. We'll cover where a human checkpoint actually matters, like anything that sends, pays or deletes.
→ What they can and can't touch. Building on session 1: agents aren't employees and you're on the hook for what they do. Keep them away from production data.
What you’ll do
Bring one real workflow from your business. You'll map it, build a first agent for it and test it in the room with help from me and Babajide Okusanya.
You'll leave with
→ One working agent for a real task in your business
→ A simple scorecard for picking the next roles to hand off
Why this one is different
Most agent demos stop at "look what it can do." This one shows you the mechanics, so you can go home and build the next one yourself.
What to bring
A laptop, a paid Claude or ChatGPT plan if you want to build along and one workflow you do every week. No paid plan? Come watch. You'll still see the whole thing built.
