Building Systems Is Everyone’s Job Now: Systems Thinking for You and Your Team
Leaders are being asked to get their teams ready for AI, for the tools in front of them now and for whatever comes next year. There's plenty of help with the tools themselves. Help with the judgment underneath them is much harder to find, and that judgment is systems thinking.
We'll define systems thinking in plain terms: the habit of assessing how work runs, in three ways you can use on any process your team relies on. Then what changes for a leader now that anyone on a team can build a powerful system in an afternoon:
deciding how much of a system to build,
weighing what it will cost and change, and
making the thinking a habit for you and your team.
A discussion for leaders, co-taught with Piper Martz.
You'll leave able to explain systems thinking, see it in your team's work, and decide how much of a system to build.
