Neurotech Workshop: Transcranial Focused Ultrasound
Join our Neurotechnology Workshop!
Dive into the fundamentals of transcranial focused ultrasound (tFUS), a neuromodulation technique enabling precise, non-invasive interaction with the brain (opening the blood brain barrier, offering better spatial resolution than TMS. etc.).
The session will combine theory, motivation, and handson exploration, giving you both conceptual understanding and practical skills into how focused ultrasound is modelled and applied. This workshop is designed to be accessible, interactive, and hands on.
🔹 What to expect
A 30 minute introduction to Transcranial Focused Ultrasound (tFUS): principles, applications, and The Noninvasive Surgery & Biopsy Laboratory (NSB Lab)
A 1 hour practical excursion exploring two core focusing algorithms (ray tracing and time reversal)
🔹 Pre-requisites (**Mandatory)
Requires experience with Python
🎤 Led by
Theory & motivation: Prof. James Choi
