About Event

Please note: this event is only for residents of Richmond City's 7th City Council district.

This isn't a regularly scheduled Hour of Action. Instead, Changemakers will be meeting our elected official, Dr. Cynthia Newbille, where she is to demand a climate-friendly zoning overhaul - dubbed the Code Refresh.

Climate advocates should care about zoning because it directly affects how Richmond City develops its land. When done correctly, good land use laws can help prevent deforestation outside of the City's core; they can help bolster the use and creation of efficient and sustainable public transit; they can encourage neighborhoods to offer destinations within walking distance; and, they can encourage the construction of energy efficient buildings.

Together, we will be advocating for a Code Refresh that helps enable non-car transportation across the entire City. Will you join us?
