Rethinking Healthcare Innovation from the Ground Up | HackitRx Singapore 2026 Fireside Chat
Why do so many problems in patient and community care remain unsolved — and what would it take to change that?
Our healthcare system is brilliant at tackling the big, well-defined problems. But the everyday challenges that quietly shape patients' lives — the ones that don't fit neatly into a clinical pathway or a commercial business case — too often go unaddressed.
This fireside chat opens HackitRx Singapore 2026, a year-long initiative by the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore (PSS) and Open Government Products (OGP), in partnership with the Alliance of Patient Organisations Singapore (APOS), to build ground-up, patient-centric solutions to the gaps that matter.
Across two back-to-back sessions, we'll hear from voices spanning healthcare, technology, patient communities, and government:
Session 1 — Looking Beyond the Disease – What is Healthcare Missing? Unpacking the structural reasons why some of the most meaningful patient problems stay unsolved and the importance of empowering patients to step-up.
Session 2 — From insight to impact: what does it actually take? Lessons from those who've moved from a real problem to real change — and what it takes to do it well.
Who this is for:
🩺 Healthcare professionals — pharmacists, doctors, nurses, allied health, and care workers who see these gaps daily and want to be part of closing them.
💻 Builders & technologists — engineers, designers, and product people looking for problems worth solving and communities worth building with.
🫶 Patients, caregivers & patient organisations — those whose lived experience is the foundation of any solution that actually works, and whose voices we want at the centre of this conversation.
Whether you've been in this space for years or you're just curious about what ground-up healthcare innovation could look like — come listen, share, and meet the people building it.
