About Event

What is a refactor party?

We are gonna pair people up, give them a small little program that is kinda mediocre, a small README explaining how it works, and a test suite. O.O

The goal is to refactor the code to be more extensible and easier to maintain. This will be time boxed to like an hour-ish

Then people will come up, walk us through their thought process, show off their refactor (Even if it's not finished, we care more about sharing our ideas), and celebrate everyone's creativity and skill!

What language for the code?

I'm figuring we'll do like 3 or 4: (Subject to change, we'd love for you to pitch a language - or a challenge?)

Typescript(Or JS if we feel so inclined)
Python
Go (Because Graham)
Java/Kotlin

How will we pair people

Just some small groups based in preferred language!

So, turns out that Code Club is kinda Scorpio territory!
We'll be celebrating Graham, Christina , AND Taj's birthdays for this one!

Other stuff

Uh yeah, it's the Holiday season! We wanna see you come out for the next couple months and enjoy some time with us. This is a great event for early learners as well, since we'll have each other.

That said , all code is expected to come from your brain. If we get stuck, we have documentation and some cool senior devs in the room!
