Polydrama Forum Theater
Have you ever faced poly-drama, i.e., a difficult problem that either exists because of non-monogamy or is magnified by it? Would you like to share it, perhaps process it together, in an interactive, fun way?
Join us to learn together through interactive improvisation in an event loosely based on Augusto Boal's forum theater, which is inspired by the "Theatre of the Opressed."
First, everyone who wants to participate will share a poly-drama they have faced or witnessed, without giving any names and with the utmost care about other people's privacy.
Second, we will choose one of the poly-dramas, or merge several poly-dramas, into the skeleton of a short three-act mini-play.
Third, we will pick 3-4 volunteers to get on the "stage" and participate in the re-enactment of the poly-drama.
Fourth, we will repeat the play a couple of times with different variations, including changing the "actors" playing different roles.
We may repeat this a couple of times if time allows.
Vibe/rules:
Participation is encouraged but you can come as a mere espectator.
Chatham House rules apply. After the event, you can share what you hear or see, but without mentioning any names.
By signing up for this event, you agree to abide by the BPP Code of Conduct.
