Circulo de Memoria: BoriMex Solidarity in Chicago
What’s the history and significance of solidarity among Puerto Rican and Mexican people in Chicago? How have art and culture shaped organizing? We invite you to reflect on these questions in a círculo de la memoria—an oral history tool that aims to validate our lived experiences and record our memories.
The circle will be facilitated by Dorian Ortega of F.L.Y. Radical Therapy, as well as Camille Padilla Dalmau and Frances Medina of 9 Millones, an independent news network committed to amplifying the voices of Puerto Rican communities.
Each participant is invited to share a photo, story, song, dance, recipe, poem, or any memory that speaks to Boricua and Mexican solidarity through art and organizing.
This conversation will be recorded and added to 9 Millones’ archive.
Light breakfast and coffee will be provided.
