About Event

Using a hardware wallet is a crucial aspect of keeping your Bitcoin secure, but can cost anywhere from $90 - $200.

In this class, we'll be teaching students how to make your own hardware wallet by buying generic hardware online and installing open source firmware (Jade SDK) onto it. Learn how to do so to:

  1. Gain a greater familiarity and comfort level with how hardware wallets work.

  2. Affordably buy and use new hardware wallets to split up your savings between them.

  3. Build the muscle memory of setting up and recovering a wallet in order to feel confident using it in the future.

This class is beginner friendly! Setting up and using a hardware wallet is much easier than you'd think. Please be sure to bring your laptop to follow along during the class.

In this class we'll be teaching how to use a LilyGo with open source firmware. Choose a ticket with that has the hardware included, or instead purchase your own here (16MB With Shell Non-Soldered [K164]): https://lilygo.cc/products/lilygo®-ttgo-t-display-1-14-inch-lcd-esp32-control-board?variant=42720264683701
