Welcome to the FiBAN Angel Study Trip to Tampere — a city where deep industrial roots have evolved into globally relevant technology and resilient, collaboration-driven startups. Ranked #3 in Finland’s startup ecosystem by StartupBlink, Tampere stands out as a non-capital hub where innovation is built on long-term capabilities, strong research, and close cooperation between startups, investors, and the city.

During the trip, we will also visit Framery, one of Finland’s most compelling recent growth success stories. Following its high-profile IPO, Framery represents a profitable, globally scaling company with strong long-term potential. We will tour their showroom and production facilities and hear the story behind their growth journey.

Over two days, you’ll explore the Tampere startup ecosystem through curated startup pitching, investor discussions, and meaningful networking, gaining insight into a region known for solving real-world challenges and building scalable businesses beyond trends. Expect a focused mix of learning, deal flow, and peer-level connections.

11:00–13:00 Lunch
13:00–17:00 Pitch Finland & startup networking. See the key cluster cases from the region and mingle with founders.
17:00–20:00 Dinner at lakeside Restaurant Kuuma with a Sauna & Swim opportunity at lake Pyhäjärvi

Day 2 – Wednesday, May 20

10:00–11:15 Global success showcase: Framery – visit to the showroom and production facilities
11:15–13:00 Lunch & networking at Framery
13:30–15:00 R2B & Tampere University. See the latest research about to transform to business
15:00–17:00 Finlayson Rooftop walk and mingle. Get a literal birds-eye view of Tampere City

Practical information

Participation is open to FiBAN members, partners, and all angel or VC investors.
Places are limited.
Please note that travel to and from Tampere is not covered by FiBAN, and participants are responsible for arranging and covering their own transportation and accommodation.
A discount code for Hotel Courtyard by Marriott Tampere City will be shared with approved participants after registration.
