Perimenopause, Menopause and Pleasure with Tristan Taormino
If you’ve got ovaries, you will experience perimenopause and menopause, two phases of life that come with physical and emotional changes that often many people experience without much knowledge or support. Loved ones may not understand or downplay the intensity of our experiences. Health care providers often disregard the impact on our quality of life or offer one-size-fits-all (if any) solutions. Our bodies are changing in a myriad of ways, including irregular periods, hot flashes, libido shifts, mood swings, insomnia, vaginal dryness, pain with penetration, and orgasm changes. Let’s talk about how these “pauses” affect our self-image, sex drive, desires, intimacy, and relationships. We’ll discuss coping strategies, Western and alternative treatments, and creating your own holistic care plan. We absolutely can reclaim our bodies and our pleasure! This class is inclusive of all gender identities and expressions.
ABOUT TRISTAN TAORMINO
Tristan Taormino is an award-winning writer, sex educator, speaker, and podcaster. She is the author of eight books and editor or co-editor of 25 anthologies; her latest is a memoir, A Part of the Heart Can’t Be Eaten. She keynotes, lectures, and teaches workshops on sexual pleasure and health, relationships, and social justice around the world. She is the host of Sex Out Loud. She coaches individuals and groups on sexuality, open relationships, and BDSM.

fwb is a members-only, queer-femme founded social club for open-minded people to learn, explore, and play. We host a range of sex positive programming, including socials, workshops, and play parties.
MEMBERSHIPS
Anyone can purchase a fwb membership through our Luma event page for discounts on fwb events, Co-Play events, partner events, and Clubhouse rentals.
The Basic is $5/mo or $50/yr and offers $5-20 discounts on event tickets and $50+ discounts on Clubhouse rentals.
The BFF is $30/mo or $300/yr and offers $20-50 discounts on event tickets and $150+ discounts on Clubhouse rentals.
Please note that having a membership does not guarantee entry to events. Please read event page details for additional vetting requirements for each event.
ARRIVAL
Please arrive early to ensure you will be admitted. Late and unapproved guests will be turned away at the door.
No shoes allowed in the loft. We recommend bringing a pair of grip socks or slippers. If you require an accessibility exemption, please email [email protected].
We provide a space for you to store your belongings. Feel free to bring a coat, a change of clothes, and/or a toy bag.
If it's your first event, please arrive early. We’ll give you a tour of the space, review the ground rules, answer any questions, and introduce you to other friends.
ACCESSIBILITY
The building is ADA accessible.
There is an elevator. Note for people with wheelchairs, canes, other walking assistance devices: the tile of the lobby floor is uneven so be careful navigating, and the bathroom is not ADA compliant.
This is a low-scent event: no perfume, cologne, or essential oils.
PHONE POLICY
We have a strict no phone policy for the privacy and presence of all our guests. Please ensure your phone is off or set to do not disturb. When you arrive, you must put your phone away and store them at check-in. We discourage checking phones, but if you must check your phone before doors lock, you may check it at the front desk and promptly return it to our staff.
Once doors have locked, there are no phones allowed. If you need to check your phone, you will be asked to leave the event.

FOOD & BEVY
We provide tea, non-alcoholic drinks and a variety of snacks.
If you arrive visibly intoxicated, or become overly intoxicated throughout the event, you may be asked to leave for the safety of yourself and our community.
There's no food or bevy in the play area except water.
REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY
We do not offer refunds. If you need to cancel or change your reservation, please let us know 48 hours prior to an event, and we will credit you for a future event.
If you are sick, were recently exposed to someone who has covid, or tested positive, and let us know ~4 hours prior to an event start, we will credit you for a future event.
We offer refunds if we cancel an event for any reason. We'll send out a cancellation email. Attendees who wish to receive a refund for their ticket purchase will need to respond within 7 days of the cancelled event. All other tickets will receive a credit for a future event.
Because we keep our events intentionally small and curate our guest list for a healthy balance of genders, sexualities, and interests, repeat no calls/no shows by friends with an active fwb membership may have their membership revoked.
