𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒅𝒍𝒆 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 with 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞

​as part of 𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒅𝒍𝒆 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅: (𝒊𝒎)𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒏, the artist 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐣𝐚 𝐠𝐮 invites a special guest to the project to explore overlapping food rules and taboos, and imagine what can be cooked within them. guided through these conditions by the artist, the invited participant looks for a dish that fits—whether by adapting a recipe, finding one that already works, or developing something new. the process unfolds through cooking, conversation, and sharing food.

​this time, 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 joins 𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒅𝒍𝒆 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 at gmtc. 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 shares palestinian food and culture through traditional recipes, cooking practices, family memories, storytelling, and communal meals. starting with a dish brought by 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞, we will explore what remains and what changes when a familiar recipe encounters an unfamiliar set of rules.
