THE BEAR: 8 True Stories. Told Live. November Edition.
THE BEAR | Show #110: FALL / Der Fall
“Even the knowledge of my own fallibility cannot keep me from making mistakes. Only when I fall do I get up again.” Vincent van Gogh
We fall in love. We fall apart. We fall flat on our faces in front of the people we most wanted to impress. And sometimes, as the leaves come down over Berlin, falling turns out to be the start of something.
Once a month, eight people step up in front of a room full of strangers and tell something true from their own lives. No notes, no phones, no second takes. The stories are funny, tender, gutting and real. The names are drawn from a hat. No one knows who’s up next.
That’s THE BEAR.
Whether you’ve been carrying a story for years or something happened last week that you can’t stop thinking about, this is the room for it. First-timers welcome. No experience needed. The whole evening runs in English. Coaching is available before you go on: just email us a week ahead at hello@thebear-storytelling.de.
The audience picks their favourite story of the night. That storyteller earns a spot at The Eve of the Champs, our annual showcase on June 24, 2027.
✍️ Not ready for the stage?
Write your story on one of the paper slips we hand out. Our host reads a few aloud, anonymously, during the show.
This month’s question:
Tell us about a time you fell. For someone, for something, or flat on your face.
Doors: 6:30 pm · Show starts: 7:00 pm
Venue: Theatre Pool, Boxhagener Straße 18, 3. Hinterhof, 10245 Berlin
Host: Izzy Ahrbeck
Music: Rory C. Malone
Tickets: €15–18, pay what feels right. Of every €15, around €3.50 goes to VAT and payment fees, so THE BEAR keeps about €11.50. That covers the venue and tech; everyone else is a volunteer. If you can choose €18, it truly helps.
Berlin’s longest-running true story open stage show.
You've gotta story, we've gotta stage!
