Handmade Iron-On Patches with Funhouse Studio

​Instructor: Sharon Hillman, Funhouse Studio

​Inspired by the ethos of DIY punk, this two-hour workshop will teach you how to create and hand-sew your own iron-on patches using appliqué techniques. You'll learn the process including materials to use and how to apply fusable backings. We will use fabric scraps to make our own designs, sewing them together with thread. Optional: bring a garment or accessory to sew your patch onto when it's complete!

​Meet your teacher:

​Sharon is a Philly-based illustrator and textile designer, creating inclusive, one-of-a-kind pieces of wearable art using reclaimed, secondhand, imperfect, and salvaged materials. Her goal is to repurpose existing textiles to create something joyful and exciting while being kind to the planet and reducing potential waste that might otherwise end up in a landfill.
