ART+TECH+TALK - Living Coast: Art, Science, and the Future of Texas Waters
Texas' coast is far more than the place where land meets water. Beneath the surface, oyster reefs, coral communities, estuaries, and countless marine species form interconnected living systems that support wildlife, coastal communities, and life throughout the Gulf.
From the bays and estuaries along our shoreline to NOAA's Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary in the Gulf, the conversation will examine what reefs reveal about our waters' health, the challenges facing Texas' coastal ecosystems, and how restoration and public engagement can help shape their future. The discussion will also consider a larger question: How do we help people care about environments they may rarely, if ever, see?
Join ARTECHOUSE Houston for a conversation bringing together leading experts in Texas' coastal conservation to explore the remarkable ecosystems of the Texas coast and the work underway to understand, protect, and restore them.
