The Hulabarbie Stylist Social is designed to bring together hairstylists, makeup artists, barbers, and creatives in the beauty space — not just to connect, but to gain real insight into building a sustainable and elevated career in the industry outside of Hawai’i.
An intimate, curated gathering for beauty professionals in Hawai‘i + aspiring creatives who are curious about the industry, growth, and what it really takes behind the scenes. This experience is centered around conversation, transparency, and sharing what actually goes on behind the scenes of growing as a stylist.
Hosted by Chalei of Hulabarbie Hair — a native Hawaiian bi-coastal hairstylist working between Las Vegas and Hawai‘i. this event will include open discussion around:
✨ Building and maintaining clientele in two different states (Hawaii + Las Vegas)
✨ Navigating a bi-coastal schedule (travel, flights, housing, salon, logistics)
✨ Transitioning between salons and stepping into new opportunities
✨ Working with high-level teams, including the Las Vegas Raiderettes
✨ Stepping into opportunities like Paris Fashion Week
In addition, we will be joined by two special guest artists for a live panel and open Q&A:
• Dayna — Redken educator, colorist, and lead makeup artist for Miss Hawai‘i America, sharing insight on education, artistry, and opportunities in the beauty and pageant space
• Ralph Malani — hairstylist and mentor with experience in film, set work, and fashion, offering perspective on expanding into editorial and production-based work
Guests will have the opportunity to learn directly from all three artists, ask questions, and gain insight into different paths within the industry.
This is not a traditional networking event — it’s a space to learn, connect, and be in a room with other artists who are ready to grow.
