​GitHub Copilot Dev Day is a community developer event focused on helping students and developers learn GitHub, modern developer workflows, and how to use AI tools like GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and learning.

​This event will target university students, beginner developers, and tech community members in Eastern Uganda who want to learn version control, collaboration using GitHub, and how AI tools are changing software development.

​The event will cover:

• ​Git, GitHub, and collaborative development

• ​GitHub Student Developer Pack and available student benefits

• ​GitHub Copilot introduction and live demonstrations

• ​Hands-on session using Copilot in Visual Studio Code

• ​Developer workflows using GitHub CLI

• ​Community quiz and networking session

​This event is part of ongoing efforts to expand developer communities and access to modern development tools beyond major cities, ensuring more students and developers across Uganda can access GitHub tools, AI-assisted development, and global developer opportunities.
