About Event

For the next hack in this series, we're going beyond LLM workflows and into the physical world. Zeon Systems is building a simulation-first platform that makes it seamless to develop, verify, and deploy automation for the bench. This is the first chance for the community to build on it.

No pre-reqs. All scientists, software, and hardware engineers welcome. We welcome all skill levels and can support 50 builders.

Teams will design and test in simulation, then verify on real lab hardware. You'll have robotic arms, 3d printers, labware, cameras, and more for you. You can bring your own too: VR headsets, sensors, cameras, and more.

You must be able to stay through demo on Sunday to participate in the hack. Everyone joining will be expected to demo something by end of the weekend.

Track A: Protein synthesis robotic experiments.

Use AI and robotics to close the loop on a real scientific experiment.

We are testing a set of candidate compounds to see which ones can block TEM-1, an enzyme that helps bacteria break down certain antibiotics. The experiment produces the enzyme, confirms it was made, then measures which compounds slow it down and what concentration works best.

The scientific question is:

Which compounds meaningfully reduce TEM-1 β-lactamase activity, and what dose-response patterns do they show?

Teams will build workflows that connect experimental planning, robotic execution, measurement, and follow-up.

Track B: Physical Integration with OPENSHELF

We'll have a challenge for integrating what happens on the bench with surrounding hardware, like the new OPENSHELF, an automated inventory management system.

You can build robotic integration to the benchtop, as well as solutions for the OPENSHELF unit.

Track C: Open build for dexterity and physical verification

We'll have extra robotic arms, cameras, and 3d printers for you to build on some dexterity challenges.

You can also bring your own hardware.
