

Mark Leckey: Recent Work
Season 3 of Artwrld Sesions is presented in partnership with Rhizome, the international hub for new media art.
Each session is recorded for a live online audience and co-presented by Michael Connor, Executive Director of Rhizome, and Josh Goldblum, Artwrld Founder and CEO.
This week we welcome internationally acclaimed artist Mark Leckey presenting his recent work including his solo exhibition enter through medieval wounds is on view through 5 July at Julia Stoschek Foundation, Berlin, including his Turner Prize-winning installation Cinema in the Round (2008).
About Mark Leckey
Mark Leckey (born 1964 in Birkenhead) is a British contemporary artist working with found objects, sound, and moving image. His work explores themes of technology, youth subculture, and media history, drawing on nostalgia, anxiety, and pop culture. He is known for Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore (1999) and Cinema in the Round (2008), for which he won the 2008 Turner Prize.
His work has been widely exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions at Kölnischer Kunstverein, Cologne, in 2008 and at Le Consortium, Dijon, in 2007. His performances have been presented in New York City at the Museum of Modern Art and Abrons Arts Center; at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, both in 2009; and at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York City, in 2008. His works are held in the collections of the Tate and the Centre Pompidou.
