Make Columbia Street Safer! Community Meeting with NYC DOT
The intersections of Columbia Street at President Street and Summit Street are dangerous and have a long history of crashes. Just last month, a car crash happened at the intersection of Columbia and Summit Streets. And, in November 2025, a 10-year-old was hit by a car when she was crossing Columbia Street at President Street.
On Tuesday, March 10, DOT Brooklyn Borough Commissioner Keith Bray will join us and hear our demands and tell us if he is going to do anything about them. After years of having requests for safety improvements denied, this is our best chance at having DOT commit to making Columbia Street safer.
We need you to show up to let DOT know that we will not tolerate any more crashes and pedestrian injuries and that we demand that these intersections are made safer as soon as possible.
Please arrive ten minutes early to get seated so that we can start on time and wrap up by 6:45.
