Sim Eternal City — Book Launch & A Future New York Storytelling Night

On May 18, the first printed edition of Sim Eternal City: A Framework for Coastal Cities arrives in Red Hook — the neighborhood where the story began.
This is not only a book launch. It is the first public night of IWBFD Storytelling Studios, an evening where the storytelling projects that will carry the studio forward are introduced, together.
New York is slowly changing beneath rising tides — and this is not only a loss of land, but of memory, of neighborhoods, of belonging. Sim Eternal City imagines how we will live as we grow older in this shifting city: a framework where Land Cities and Floating Cities coexist, and elders remain active participants in the life of the city.
What happens that evening
— The Book. Paul J. J. Kang reads from Sim Eternal City and from its companion concept, No Stone Tombstone — a reimagining of memory, legacy, and space rooted in Red Hook's waterfront.
— The Site. Among the five candidate waterfront sites already introduced this spring for the New York floating city, the final site will be announced that evening.
— The Projects. Meet Mistry and Vignan Ganji present the NY Storytelling Project within the Sim Eternal City framework. Nate DiDomizio introduces We Kings Creative A.C.Ts — a new campaign from IWBFD Storytelling Studios.
Between sessions, an open networking evening with light drinks, at a Red Hook café where the Statue of Liberty stands in view and the harbor touches your feet.
