Elise Hills Plays The Piano and Writes Back: A Recital & A Handwritten Reply
A Saturday-night piano recital. In a film studio.
Saturday 21 November 2026 · 6:30 pm
Aquifer Film Studio, Hackney Wick, London
£18 · Only 26 places left!
Elise Hills is playing a recital for just 30 people in a very white room in Hackney Wick. We've also added a (small) twist.
Ask Elise anything. She'll answer by hand.
Book your place. On the next screen, you'll be asked for your name and your question (optional).
Send Elise your question. It can be serious, musical, random, or something personal you'd never ask in public. Elise reads every one privately and will write you back.
Collect your reply. She writes your answer by hand on a notecard, and it will be waiting for you when you arrive (yes, in an old-school way!).
Not sure what to ask? Try one of these:
What's the most dramatic thing a piano has ever done to you?
Which composer would you most like to have dinner with, and who is cooking?
What goes through your head during a very long piece?
...Is a cat or a dog the better audience?
Who is Elise?
Elise Hills is a British classical pianist, and one of the most active on Instagram! She posts practice sessions, behind-the-scenes clips. Follow her at @elisehillspianist.
The music
About 60 minutes, from a Baroque dance...to a night out in Vienna:
Handel: Chaconne, HWV 435
Schubert: Musical Moments, D.780
Liszt: Valse oubliée No.1, S.215
Chopin: Waltz, Op.70 No.1
Chopin: Nocturne, Op.48 No.2
Liszt: Soirée de Vienne, S.427
The room
Not a church, not a concert hall! Aquifer Film Studio is a bright, all-white filming space, a bit like hearing the music inside a blank page. With 30 guests in total, you'll sit close to Elise.
After the recital
There will be cake, and time to chat with Elise.
