​In this session, NYU Blockchain Lab welcomes Professor Ian D’Souza (NYU Stern) for: An Introduction to Decentralized Finance: Money & Finance (r)Evolution?

​DeFi isn’t just “yield” or “tokens.” It’s a new way to design trust, markets, and the rails that move value. We’ll focus on first principles and build an intuitive framework for understanding what DeFi is, why it matters, and why this shift may be an evolution or a real revolution in finance.

​About Guest Speaker:

​ Professor Ian D’Souza is a Clinical Professor of Finance at NYU Stern, teaching behavioral finance, blockchain, DeFi & cryptocurrencies, and new venture financing. He has served as a CIO at TMT-focused funds and advises family offices, managed funds, and endowments, including on emerging areas such as crypto and digital assets. He is also an Associate Editor for the Journal of ESG and Impact Investing and a founding member of the NYU Stern Family Office Council.
