Printmaking Workshop with Rehmat
Join us this Saturday afternoon for a printmaking workshop hosted by one of our very own! Rehmat is a multidisciplinary artist and creative director working across community events, graphic design, illustration, printmaking, and digital media. Her recent work has explored play as a form of world-building and resistance. One method of this exploration has been creating automatic mono-prints — intuitive, unique, textured prints created with paint that are revisited and drawn on to reveal all kinds of creatures and characters.
Come make your own prints with us at _Subkontinent! We’ll start with a short introduction to printmaking and automatic art, followed by a short demonstration. Then we will be all set to make our prints using paint! While they dry we can take a break, and then we will revisit them with pens and markers to bring out whatever we see in the paint!
The workshop is suitable for all ages, no prior requirements and materials will be provided. Just bring yourself and clothes you wouldn’t be heartbroken to get paint on, and let’s make art together! Please RSVP through the link in our bio so we can plan materials accordingly.
