Instructor:Kaliting (Su-ting Zhang)

Profile A former early childhood English educator with 12 years of experience, Kaliting returned to her husband’s hometown of Dulan and began her journey as an "Amis daughter-in-law." Having lived in the Dulan tribe for 17 years, she is a keen observer and an avid learner who is passionate about sharing. She has dedicated herself to becoming a bridge of communication between the tribe and the outside world.

Kaliting has led numerous tribal-related projects and arts initiatives. In 2018, she co-founded the Dulan Starry Sky community group. Currently, she serves as a part-time staff member at Dulan Junior High School, a professional guide for tribal and dark sky culture, and a lecturer on astronomy and indigenous traditions.

Chronology

  • 2007: Returned to Dulan to learn the ways of an Amis daughter-in-law and embrace tribal life.

  • Volunteer Years: Engaged in community development while volunteering at the Senior Citizens' Association and organized various projects, including the theatrical production Dalu’an.

  • 2012: Joined the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration (ECNSAA) to learn about tribal tourism and served as the liaison for the Dulan Tribe.

  • 2014: Began working as a professional tribal culture guide for community groups, government agencies, and international delegations.

  • 2016: Led the Dulan team to the Philippines for the Cordillera Indigenous Peoples' Day exchange.

  • 2017: Started promoting "Dark Sky" awareness and co-founded Dulan Starry Sky.

  • 2019: Certified as an Elementary Starry Sky Guide by the Taitung County Astronomy Association.

  • 2020 – Present: Lecturer for starry sky and astronomy courses.

  • 2021 – Present: Lecturer for the National Taitung University "Dulan Blue Tone" Regional Revitalization Project; frequently invited to speak on Dulan tribal culture and arts.

  • 2022: Completed the Taiwan Dark Sky Association (TDA) guide training and began professional outdoor stargazing tours.

  • 2023: Traveled to the Lake Tekapo International Dark Sky Reserve in New Zealand for an internship.

  • 2024: Represented Dulan Starry Sky at the International Starry Sky Symposium in New Zealand.

  • 2025: Trained and certified a new cohort of Dulan Starry Sky guides.

  • 2025: Facilitator for the "Kita’s Gathering Place" at the National Museum of Prehistory, Taitung.

Profile Gwen is a senior performing arts project manager with a background in advertising. Since 2009, she has executed over a hundred performing arts events, with expertise spanning content marketing, brand operations, arts administration, cross-disciplinary communication, media planning, copywriting, and event production.

As a lover of new experiences, Gwen is fascinated by storytelling and dialogue. she excels at connecting people, stories, and resources, transforming them into various creative mediums. Her greatest sense of achievement comes from producing high-quality art projects and meaningful content.

Currently based on the Taitung coast, she founded "He-Liu Life Proposal" in the heart of Dulan—a multi-functional space blending lush greenery with a cozy, home-like atmosphere. Guided by the philosophy of "Uniting and Flowing Together," the space hosts regular sharing events to learn life wisdom from the mountains and the sea, creating diverse lifestyles that flow in harmony with nature.

  • 2025: Host unit for the "Voice of the Ocean" International Austronesian Musicians Tribal Residency.

  • 2025: Certified as a professional guide after completing the Dulan Starry Sky training.

  • 2025: Coordinator for the Dulan Starry Sky Dark Sky Community Promotion Project.

  • 2024: Taitung Coordinator for the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) "Next Level" Hip-Hop Cultural Exchange Program.
