One Dollar, Every Chain: Building Cross-Chain USDC Systems on Sui with CCTP V2

About Event

Most of the money that reaches a Sui app starts somewhere else: a customer's USDC on Base, a payroll budget on Ethereum, a company treasury on Arbitrum. Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) moves that money natively. It burns USDC on one chain and mints the same amount on another, so there are no wrapped tokens, no liquidity pools and no third-party bridge to trust. CCTP V2 now connects Sui to about 30 other blockchains, and the original version is on its way out: CCTP V1 deprecation began on 31 October and completes on 1 December 2026. Any app still running on V1 has weeks left.

This session goes past "send USDC across a bridge" and treats CCTP as a building block for a real system. We follow one transfer from end to end: the burn on the source chain, the attestation from Circle, and the mint on Sui, where the arriving USDC can flow straight into your own contract in the same transaction. Then we build Corridor, a cross-chain payments desk. A customer pays an invoice from an EVM chain, the USDC lands on Sui and settles the invoice automatically, and the business pays its suppliers back out to whichever chain they use. Along the way we cover what breaks in production: attestations that take time, transfers that are burned but not yet minted, retries that must never pay twice, and fees.

What You'll Learn

- How CCTP works: burn, attest, mint, and the domain system, and why native USDC beats wrapped tokens and liquidity bridges
- What changed in V2 and what it means on Sui: standard and fast transfers (Sui sends with standard transfers only), hooks, fees, finality thresholds, and moving off V1 before 1 December
- The Sui side: Circle's Move packages for sending and receiving, redeeming a transfer inside a programmable transaction block, and passing the minted USDC into your own Move calls in the same transaction
- Designing a system around it: invoices tied to transfers, tracking transfers that are still in flight, minting that stays safe when retried, and reconciling against onchain records instead of client state
- Paying out: burning USDC on Sui to settle on another chain, and showing the attestation wait honestly in the interface
- How to ship Corridor: pay an invoice from an EVM testnet, watch it settle on Sui testnet, pay a supplier out to another chain, then close the tab halfway through a transfer and recover it

Who Should Attend

- Payments, wallet and commerce builders whose users hold USDC on other chains
- Teams with a CCTP V1 integration that has to move to V2 before 1 December
- Developers who joined the bridging session and want to build a complete product on one route
- Anyone designing checkout, payroll or treasury flows that span more than one chain

What to Bring

- Laptop with Node.js 22+ and pnpm, and the latest @mysten/sui
- A Sui testnet wallet and an EVM wallet such as MetaMask on a CCTP testnet like Base Sepolia or Ethereum Sepolia
- Testnet USDC from faucet.circle.com on the EVM chain, plus a little testnet ETH for gas
- Basic Move and TypeScript. No Solidity required
