This gathering is designed to help you connect with your local Kindred community, swap travel and hosting stories, share tips, and ask questions about Kindred directly with fellow members. Between a poster from Etsy and a Van Gogh, there’s a whole world in between. Finding a work you truly connect with feels like falling in love — curiosity, obsession, and something that stays with you longer than expected. The beginning of taste, and the desire to live with art that changes a room, or something within you. On June 11that 7pm, SEE OUR VISION Gallery invites Kindred members to an evening on the beginnings of art collecting: exploring taste, attention, and what it means to live with art. We’ll cover how to start collecting at any budget, understand contemporary art without intimidation, and what makes an artwork stay with us.
We will talk about:How to understand your taste
How to begin collecting on different budgets
What makes an artwork stay with us
How to approach contemporary art without intimidation
Editions, originals, pricing, framing, and how buying art actually works
Why collections often become reflections of identity and memory
The evening ends with a guided exercise to create your own curated collection, with feedback from gallery curators.

What's included: This is a self-led gathering — guests are welcome to bring anything they’d enjoy sharing while spending the evening with art and conversation.

About your host
✨ Sofia is a Kindred member based in Berlin. A product manager by day and an art collector by night, she works at the gallery as a passion project — a way to engage with art and express herself without being an artist. Becoming an art collector was never something she imagined would be accessible, but through conversations and quiet observations at the gallery, she came to realize that it isn’t reserved for a select few. Anyone can begin. Through her work, she hopes to share a simple message with the community: art collecting is a powerful, often overlooked form of self-expression.
