Mt. Adams PBA Fall Quarterly Meeting
Join a discussion about the Burdoin Fire with local landowners, land managers, and wildland firefighters. While the fire had destructive and tragic impacts on many homes and structures, initial reports also indicate that in many places, low-to-moderate severity fire burned in ecologically beneficial ways and helped reduce future wildfire risk, thanks in part to past fuels treatments. Knowing that fire plays an essential role in Columbia River Gorge ecosystems, we’ll use our meeting to delve into what we can learn about this landscape’s relationship with fire and how to live with it in a safer and more resilient way.
PBA meetings are open to anyone interested in supporting and expanding prescribed fire across the Mt. Adams and Columbia Gorge regions! Please register at the link below.
Note: This meeting will be hosted at the home of a PBA member who lives in the footprint of the Burdoin Fire. Thank you in advance for being considerate of nearby residents and any post-fire activities in the area. Parking is limited so please carpool if you can.
