​Every entrepreneur, investor, and startup staffer has a story that still makes their stomach drop.

​You may want share your horror story about the launch that flopped, the partnership that went sideways, the investor meeting that could not have gone worse.

​We will gather as founders, investors, and startup folks to tell the stories you won't hear otherwise.
Remember, respect your NDAs and talk about the lessons learned. That's what will turn your scary startup story into local legend!

After the stories, we will keep the fire going and settle into a proper social with s’mores, pumpkin spice beer and other campfire food fit for the start of spooky season.

​Why the campfire?
Well, this is how we do it in the Yukon! The most honest conversations don't happen in a boardroom, but around a firepit where you are creating kinship with your peers.

​Yukon Venture Angels' flagship event, Build the North, always has a real fireside chat. This is where entrepreneurs and investors alike can drop the polished version and speak honestly.
That is how we build trust and learn from one another.

Scary Startup Stories brings a little of that Yukon spirit to Edmonton Startup Week. Come with a story, come to listen, or come for a s’more.

​You do not have to be a founder or investor. If you are part of the startup community, curious about it, or simply enjoy a good cautionary tale, there is a place for you around the fire. We welcome your family and friends alike! The startup journey is shared with everyone.

• ​Approximately 45 minutes of facilitated storytelling

• ​Startup failures, investor nightmares and lessons learned the hard way

• ​A relaxed social around the fire, a nice break from the bustling downtown

• ​S’mores, pumpkin spice beer, and scary stories

• ​Good people and no pressure to pitch
