The NANDA (Networked Agents and Decentralized AI) project, which originated at MIT, is pioneering the foundational infrastructure for a true "Internet of AI Agents" - imagine billions of specialized AI agents collaborating across a decentralized architecture, performing discrete functions while communicating seamlessly, learning, earning and transacting on our behalf.

Project Nanda council leaders and members are writing white papers, contributing to open source code, hosting hackathons and events, helping startups and venture communities, engaging with academic institutions and contributing to policy programs.

We're seeking Council Leaders and Council Members to help shape the Bay Area's role in this revolutionary project.

Commitment & Schedule

Time Investment: 1 hour per week
Core Meetup: Once a month, Monday 6-7 PM in Palo Alto or SF area
Additional: Committee-specific work and collaboration between monthly meetings

We're seeking Council Leaders and Council Members across these specialized committees:

Startup and Developer Connectors

  • Connect with agentic AI startups, facilitate partnerships and pilot programs

  • Build relations with DevRel teams and dev community

  • Promote open source code with innovative applications of agent infrastructure

VC & Investor Relations

  • Bridge connections with venture capital and strategic investors

  • Communicate NANDA's value proposition to funding ecosystem

  • Support commercialization pathways for member organizations

External Relations & Policy Council

  • Engage with ecosystem players, tech companies and non-profits

  • Be a bridge to regulatory bodies and policy makers

  • Shape responsible development of decentralized AI systems

  • Address governance, privacy, and safety considerations

Communications & Social Media Team

  • Amplify mission across professional networks

  • Create content for technical and business audiences

  • Manage Bay Area chapter's digital presence

Events Committee

  • Organize meetups, workshops, and networking sessions

  • Coordinate with MIT and other NANDA chapters globally

  • Plan hackathons and demo days

Academic Relations

  • Foster partnerships with Bay Area universities

  • Connect research initiatives with industry applications

  • Facilitate student and faculty engagement

Research & Publications

  • Contribute to white papers and specifications

  • Author thought leadership content on agentic web development

  • Document best practices and business case studies
