Social Good Hackathon: Maximizing Potential @ UC Berkeley
Build technology that serves your community.
Build for Good is a one-day hackathon at UC Berkeley, hosted by Maximizing Potential, a student-run nonprofit founded at West Valley College.
Build for Good brings students from universities all around together to do exactly that. In one day, you’ll join a team, build a working prototype, and demo it to the room.
Tracks
Each team picks one track to build for:
Food Access & Local Food Systems: Help people find public food resources or navigate produce programs and how to take part in them.
Homelessness Support: Make public information about meals, hygiene services, and support resources easier to find and understand.
Youth Well-Being & Violence Prevention: Create an accessible guide to publicly available youth programs and community resources.
Who should come?
Everyone is welcome: students from any community college or university, at any skill level. You don’t need a team, an idea, or a coding background. Register individually or form teams in the morning.
Bring a laptop, an open mind, and a willingness to collaborate.
