About Event

Women in Big Data TO goes to brunch.

This event is a small, intimate gathering for the Women in Big Data TO community.

Here's the agenda: You arrive at 11am, find our table, order food and one or maybe two caffeinated drinks. You make small talk, comment on the traffic, stare at your neighbours.

Or instead, try this ice breaker question:

"So what do you do for fun?"

It's a brunch where we talk about what it's actually like working in a field where women are the minority: burnout, salary, promotions, self-advocacy, leadership, all of it. No swag, no keynote, no breakout sessions. Just a small group of women in data figuring out that the best advice usually comes from the person next to you, not a panel.

For once, we won't provide name tags and Sharpies in 5 different colours. You, yes, you, will be the speaker, the listener, the creative thinker, and the note-taker.

Bring a friend or leave with new friends.

At least I heard the food is good.
