​​Something about the Slingshot AI team, we love a good philosophical debate. So we thought, why not open the conversation and invite you in?

We're continuing our Monthly Debate Series with a topic near and dear to many of our hearts:

Does It Make Sense for Startups to Hire Junior Engineers?

As engineers ourselves, we were all once junior engineers! And now, it seems like AI might be able to do the role better than humans. Where does that leave us? Or are we thinking about this backwards? If AI takes the place of the expert, perhaps junior engineers are the future! Engineers who can bring creativity, energy and grit who can utilize the latest and greatest in AI to substitute for their lack of specialized expertise.

Event Schedule

6:30pm: Doors open

​​7:00pm: Debate begins

• ​​Opening statement – Yes (5 min)

• ​​Opening statement – No (5 min)

• ​​Audience speeches alternate yes/no, anyone can raise their hand to get up to speak (2 min each), about 3 each (moderator picks them)

• ​​Closing statements (2 min each)

• ​​Audience vote with marbles

​​After the vote

• ​​Time for mingling, chatting, and continuing the debate over drinks
