Designing an AI Solution | Session 1
AI doesn’t become useful to a business just because someone opens ChatGPT.
The real opportunity starts when you can look at the work happening inside your organization, identify where AI can genuinely help, and design a solution around the people, processes, and information already involved.
Designing an AI Solution is the first session in our five-part AI in Supply Chain series, built for business and supply-chain professionals who want to move beyond simply using AI tools and begin thinking like AI managers.
In this practical workshop, we’ll focus on identifying the right opportunities for AI inside your day-to-day work and turning one of those opportunities into the foundation of an AI solution.
What we’ll cover
How to spot tasks in your work that AI can take on
How to separate a useful AI opportunity from something that should stay human
How to think through the information, instructions, and outcomes an AI solution needs
How to generate and design your first AI solution
Why starting simple is usually the fastest route to something useful
How that first solution can later grow into a larger workflow or AI assistant
The goal isn’t to leave with another list of AI tools.
It’s to start looking at your business differently.
Instead of asking:
“What can AI do?”
You’ll begin asking:
“Where inside this process could I delegate work to AI?”
That shift is the foundation for the rest of the series.
Who this is for
This session is designed for:
Supply-chain professionals, managers, operators, business owners, and team leaders who understand their work but don’t necessarily have a technical background.
No coding experience is required.
Your operational knowledge is the starting point.
What you’ll leave with
By the end of the workshop, you should have identified a practical AI opportunity from your own work and begun designing a solution around it.
We’ll use that foundation throughout the rest of the series as we move from design → execution → deployment → real-world examples → governance.

Session 1 specifically covers spotting tasks AI can take on, generating and designing the first AI solution, and deliberately starting simple before building on it.
