An Evening of Songs and Stories with Shiel Street Press & The Taylor Project
Songs and Stories of the Local, the Lost and the Found with Shiel Street Press and the Taylor Project.
Shiel Street Press invites you to an evening of songs and stories about the local, the lost and the found. There will be readings, trivia, conversation and music at The Wild Geese.
Shiel Street Press is a small, independent, not for profit publisher based in North Melbourne, with a vital interest in telling stories of home, street, neighbourhood and place. Folk musicians and urban researchers Liz and Sarah of The Taylor Project perform “folk music with factoids” - beautiful harmonies and catchy tunes combining music, humour, storytelling, popular culture and personal reflection.
The evening will be a prelude to “Throw Away Cabaret: Songs About Haunted Hard Rubbish”, debuting at the 2026 Melbourne Fringe Festival. There will be enchanting songs, stories and poems about everyday objects that people throw out – or can’t throw out.
**Ticket price includes one complimentary house wine, beer or soft drink. Early dinner and event packages available.
Come along for what promises to be a lively, enjoyable and thought-provoking evening of song and story!
