Financial forecasting and driver based modelling: going from advanced reporting to advanced forecasting
How do I take my financial modelling further? What's the difference between an "accountants" model and a professional driver based forecasting tool that I can put in front of investors, shareholders and banks?
In this session we will look at the core set up, tricks, and best practices of building a driver based financial model. It builds on our previous workshop "Financial Modelling: a workshop on best practice and dashboarding". In that session we focused on reporting the past, here we will look at forecasting the future.
As a Fractional Finance professional giving clients and insights is what allows us to add value to their business. So how do you build a model that lets you answer:
What happens if we change the price?
If Churn doubles next year are we still profitable?
Do we hire that new staff member now on in 6 months?
Not only does a well built model let you answer that question, it lets you answer that question IN the meeting, straight away. No "ummm…let me check and get back to it" or "that's complicated I'm not sure exactly".
Instead you'll be able to focus on the results, discuss impact and downside protection.
Expect actionable advice, real-world examples, and a relaxed, open conversation. This is not generic theory.
