​In today's digital world, our girls are online more than ever — learning, connecting, and building their futures. The NIA Tech Academy's cybersecurity safety curriculum equips scholars with the practical knowledge they need to protect themselves in digital spaces.

​Through hands-on, age-appropriate lessons, scholars will learn how to:

• ​Recognize red flags — spotting phishing attempts, scams, and suspicious messages before they become a problem

• ​Protect personal information — understanding what's safe to share online and what should stay private

• ​Build strong digital defenses — creating secure passwords, using two-factor authentication, and recognizing when an account may be compromised

• ​Navigate social media safely — managing privacy settings, understanding digital footprints, and thinking critically about who can see their content

• ​Respond to online threats — knowing what to do (and who to tell) if they encounter cyberbullying, harassment, or a security breach

• ​Think like a defender — building the foundational mindset of cybersecurity: staying alert, asking questions, and never assuming a link, message, or request is safe just because it looks familiar

​This isn't just about staying safe — it's about empowerment. By understanding the tools and tactics used to exploit personal information, our scholars gain the confidence to move through digital spaces as informed, protected young women, while also opening the door to future interest in cybersecurity and tech careers.
