Mainstreaming Volunteerism for Sustainable Development: International Volunteer Year 2026
As we mark 2026 as the International Year of Volunteers, Youth on Sustainable Development (YSD) is hosting a webinar on “Mainstreaming Volunteerism for Sustainable Development.”
Across Africa and globally, there is growing momentum to strengthen and institutionalise volunteerism as a key driver of community action and sustainable development. The African Union, together with partners such as UN Volunteers (UNV) and IAVE, continues to emphasize the importance of structured and recognized volunteer systems that enable young people to contribute meaningfully to national and continental development priorities.
This webinar will bring together youth, volunteers, and organizations to explore how volunteerism can be better integrated into development spaces, strengthened through partnerships, and amplified during the International Year of Volunteers and beyond.
