-1 to Binny Bansal | South Park Commons (BLR)

South Park Commons India is excited to host Binny Bansal, Co-founder of Flipkart, as part of our -1 to Now series.

Event Details:
3:30 PM: Doors Open
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Fireside Chat + Q&A
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Mixer

Binny Bansal is co-founder of Flipkart, the Bengaluru company that began as an online bookstore run out of a two-room apartment and grew into one of India's largest e-commerce platforms.

An IIT Delhi computer science graduate, Binny started out as a software engineer at Sarnoff and then Amazon before co-founding Flipkart in 2007 with Sachin Bansal. He served as COO, CEO and Group CEO, and led the company through Walmart's 2018 acquisition of a majority stake. Since then he has co-founded xto10x, which helps growth-stage startups scale, founded Opptra, and backed founders as an angel investor and board member.

In this candid -1 conversation, we'll go back to the days before Flipkart was Flipkart. We'll explore what it took to build e-commerce in a market where logistics, payments and trust all had to be invented, how to keep building as a company scales, and what it looks like to start again and back the next generation of founders.

This session is designed for builders who want to understand the thinking behind a defining Indian internet company, not just the headlines. Expect first-principles reasoning and hard-earned lessons.

Who should attend: Founders, engineers, researchers and operators who are drawn to hard problems and the -1 to 0 journey.

About South Park Commons (SPC): SPC is a technical community and venture fund for founders, researchers and technologists figuring out what to work on next, what we call the -1 to 0 stage of your career. Registration and approval are required, and space is limited. Doors close at 3:55 PM sharp. If you're on the waitlist, we'll be in touch if a spot opens up.
