Headlines & Horror: A Pop Up Generative Workshop
Bree's Poetry Pop Up is back in October, just in time for Halloween. During this low-stakes generative writing workshop, we will transform our doomscrolling and escapism into something magical: writing!
No prior experience or fancy background required. All genres and skill levels are welcome, and there is zero pressure to produce "good" work—just a fun, judgment-free space to experiment, unwind, and see what happens. As my former students would say, "Ms. Rolfe is chill."
Bree Rolfe is an Austin-based poet, educator, and disability advocate who has lived with cystic fibrosis for five decades. Her creative work is deeply concerned with the difficulty of living in broken systems in a broken body, and attempts to scrape joy from the tiniest cracks. She is the author of the poetry chapbook Who’s Going to Love the Dying Girl (Unsolicited Press). Her essays have been featured in HealthCentral and Lunch Ticket, and her poetry has appeared in journals and anthologies, including The Coachella Review and Saul Williams’s Chorus: A Literary Mixtape. When she isn’t writing or organizing, she is dancing to yacht rock with her cats.
