​What you need to get started

• ​A Mac — any Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) running macOS Tahoe (26) or later

• ​Xcode 26 — free from the Mac App Store; set aside ~40 GB of disk space and some time for the download

• ​Modaal — download the macOS app and start for free

• ​An Apple ID — needed for Xcode; the free tier is enough to start building and testing in the simulator
