Build Agents That Remember Hackathon @42Paris
Build Agents That Remember
Every day, we give AI agents more tools, more autonomy, and more things to do.Then we close the window, and they forget almost everything.
screenpipe (YC26) changes that. It turns your computer history into memory for any AI: search anything you’ve seen or heard, turn meetings and daily work into summaries, follow-ups and automations. Everything stays local by default, and agents plug in through a local API and MCP server.
The premise is simple: give an agent a memory, then see what becomes possible.
From October 16–18 at École 42 Paris, 42Entrepreneurs and screenpipe are bringing together developers, builders and AI enthusiasts for 48 hours to build something useful, strange, ambitious or something we haven’t thought of yet.
The challenge
Build across three tracks:
Find what to automate Use screenpipe history to find repetitive tasks. Build an interface that helps someone understand the steps and decide what to automate.
Teach an agent your workflow Turn recorded work into an automation using agent skills, tools or model training. Show it completing a real task from start to finish.
Make it work for a team Turn a personal workflow into an automation others can use, with the setup, approvals and shared tools they need.
Prizes & opportunities
$3,000 in prizes + a paid contract with screenpipe.
The winning project will have the opportunity to work directly with screenpipe to integrate the hack into the product, plus a meal with the founders.
And the opportunity doesn’t necessarily end with the hackathon.
screenpipe (YC26), based in San Francisco, is also looking for 1–2 interns or apprentices for 4–6 months among the builders they meet during the weekend.
Teams
Come with a team or come alone.
Teams are made up of 3–5 people.
We’ll help participants meet and form teams during the opening, with a dedicated Discord channel available before the hackathon to find teammates and exchange ideas.
You don’t need a finished idea before coming.
What to expect
48 hours of building at École 42 Paris, with technical resources from screenpipe, support throughout the weekend, food and drinks, final demos and a jury.
Bring your laptop. We’ll take care of the rest.
Who can join?
The hackathon is open to 42 students and external builders.
Whether you’re already building agents every day or just want to experiment with persistent AI context, you’re welcome.
See you at 42.
