"Zu Verschenken" - Analog Collage by Michela Paolicelli
“Zu Verschenken” is the firsy solo show by Michela Paolicelli.
Over the past year and a half, Michela has been collecting discarded high-quality magazines from Berlin’s Zu Verschenken (“to give away”) street piles and transforming them into unexpectedly whole compositions.
Her collages emerge from a very specific inner landscape, that of someone navigating Berlin's transience and cultural friction, while carrying the weight of ecological collapse through her professional work. Art became a way to metabolize all of this, to find hope again.
Originally from Apulia and long based outside Italy, Michela has lived in Lisbon, Helsinki, and Berlin, dedicating her career to advancing social and climate action across organizations.
Her artistic work touches on migration, human-nature connection, and ecological boundaries with a poetic and deeply contemporary sensibility. Exhibited in Berlin, Lisbon, and Bucharest, her pieces invite viewers to slow down, look closer, and immerse themselves in worlds built from forgotten fragments.
