​The Scent Segment:

​Learn the fundamentals of scent formulation, some of the science behind perfumery, and test out what different fragrance ‘notes’ smell like.

​The Self Segment:

​Guided reflection on the scent associations, and how you can use them for more consistent (or more realistic) self-care.

​

​At the end of the session, you’ll leave with:

• ​A better understanding of what you’re actually smelling the next time you pick up a candle or perfume.

• ​More connectedness between mental and sensory processing.

  • ​Bonus: connectedness with the fellow scent-thinkers in the room :)

• ​Your own set of mini scent-note sprays from the session (so if nothing else, at least you’re guaranteed to leave smelling great!)

​* The Scent Introduction & Reflections will be followed by a free-writing/journaling session at the end with optional prompts.

​* Paper will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own journals/stationery if you’d prefer!

​Hi! I’m Avani, candlemaker and founder of The Parallax Company, and a longtime fan of thinking “too much” about most things!

​I also love blending thoughtfulness with science and design, so the goal of my workshops is always for people to leave a little more curious, inspired, and appreciative of complexity, than when they came in.
