​Come hang out with Brandon Cole for a lunchtime session on one of the trickiest parts of writing: how to make culture on the page feel real without turning it into a lecture or a costume. We'll dig into two sides of the same coin, writers pulling from traditions they actually grew up in and know in their bones, and writers building entirely invented cultures that still need to feel lived-in and specific. How much do you explain? When does texture become tokenizing? Where's the line between honoring a tradition and flattening it into aesthetic?
