​Silicon Swamp @ Boyd: DIY Quantum Computing + Mixer

​Join us for another Silicon Swamp gathering at the Boyd Innovation Center, kicking off at 6:00 PM.

​The evening will start with a brief, informal talk and live demonstration by Fred Gertz (Founder & CEO, Collide Technology) on a DIY Quantum Computer—showing how fundamental quantum concepts like superposition and interference can be demonstrated using simple, hands-on optical components. No physics background required.

​After the short talk, we’ll shift into what Silicon Swamp does best: open networking, relaxed conversation, and community building. Whether you’re in tech, science, startups, or just curious about emerging ideas, this is a low-pressure space to meet interesting people and exchange ideas.
