The SoMi Showcase: Music Education Reimagined
Spend an afternoon with SoMi Academy at the Music Room, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, exploring practical, inclusive and engaging approaches to music in primary schools.
To make the afternoon as useful and accessible as possible for busy school teams, we’ve moved to a flexible drop-in showcase format. You can arrive when suits, speak with the team, explore the areas most relevant to your setting, and leave with practical next steps.
Built for music leads and senior leaders, this is a chance to explore what high-quality music provision can look like in your school, from early years through to instrumental progression, staff confidence, inclusive ensemble work and pupil engagement beyond the classroom.
What you’ll be able to explore:
Online teacher resources and CPD
See how SoMi supports non-specialist teachers with practical resources, video CPD and classroom-ready materials designed to build confidence and reduce planning pressure.
UkeSteps and pupil home learning
Get hands-on with the SoMi ukuleles and see how our online platform supports independent pupil practice, musical progression and parent engagement.
Silent ensemble and inclusive whole-class music
Experience our silent ensemble approach, using headphones, online lesson plans and practical ensemble activities to make group music-making manageable, inclusive and engaging.
EYFS music in practice
Watch a showcase of our EYFS programme, including footage from partner schools, outcomes and testimonials. You’ll also be able to explore our EYFS workshop kits, including pianos, percussion and supporting resources.
Reflection time for your own setting
Use the sit-down area to reflect on your current music provision, consider strengths and gaps, and identify possible next steps for your school.
Informal next-step conversations
Before you leave, there will be time to speak with the SoMi team about what might be useful next, whether that is access to resources, CPD, EYFS support, band provision, a school assembly, or a follow-up conversation.
Drop in any time between 3.00pm and 5.15pm.
There is no formal programme, so you do not need to arrive for a specific start time or stay for the full afternoon. Most guests will be able to explore the showcase meaningfully in around 30 to 45 minutes, though you are very welcome to stay longer, speak with the team and explore the curriculum.

Who it’s for:
Music leads, subject leaders, EYFS leads and senior leaders across primary schools in the Liverpool City Region. Whether you already work with SoMi or you’re meeting us for the first time, you’re very welcome.

Getting here and parking
The Music Room is at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Hope Street, Liverpool L1 9BP.
There are several car parks within a short walk:
Caledonia Street Car Park (L1 9BP) is the Hall's own car park and the closest, payable at the pay and display machine or by app. Spaces are limited, especially on concert nights, so allow a little extra time.
Blackburne House Car Park (L8 7PE) is on Hope Street, just a 2 minute walk away, and must be pre-booked, so it's a good choice if you want a space guaranteed.
