About Event

A new world is growing on Toronto's greenest dancefloor 🌱

If winter feels heavy and you crave connection, Brightside offers a playful lift in a space filled with warmth and living things.

Brightside is an interactive world-building experience and nature ritual that invites simple moments of reflection, connection, movement, and play.

Move together, feel better.

This is an alcohol-free, all ages, intergenerational event. Come with your kids, your parents, or your grandparents. Come with friends. Come on your own to make new friends. Come if you love dancing, but not nightclubs. Come if you don't usually dance, but need to move. Come if you're curious (and maybe even a little scared). Come if you need to find the Brightside of winter.

Where is Brightside held?
Brightside takes place in the newly renovated Palm Room at the magnificent Allan Gardens Conservatory. Imagine dancing beneath soaring palms, surrounded by warmth, humidity, and hundreds of plants - making new human friends and new plant friends along the way.

What is Brightside Like?

Brightside is unlike anything you’ve experienced - part meditation, part story, part ritual, part icebreaker, part dance party. Participation is always optional. Join in however feels right, with gentle invitations to step just beyond your comfort zone.

Participation is always optional. You’re welcome to engage in ways that feel right for your body - rest, stillness, and observation are fully part of the practice.

What time should I arrive?
Brightside is a shared journey with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Doors open at 6:00 PM, with gentle transition time to check in, drop coats, and land. Arriving between 6:00–6:15 PM supports the collective opening and allows you to fully participate in the opening invitations.

Is the space accessible?
The Palm Room is physically accessible and AODA compliant. The Palm House includes ramps and stairs, with automatic door operators at the southeast central entrance. Please note: Interior access to the washrooms from the Palm House includes narrow and uneven flagstone paths and 1 steep ramp. Please see our Accessibility Guide for more details.

Is Brightside appropriate for children?

Yes - Brightside is all-ages and children are welcome. While not designed specifically for kids, it’s rooted in play, movement, and imagination. Children can participate in ways that feel right with caregiver support. Under 2 attend free; ages 2+ require a ticket.
