About Event

Most people only ever see the end result of a physical red team engagement: a photograph from inside a restricted area, a short CCTV clip, or a report showing that an attacker reached somewhere they shouldn’t.

But that moment is only the visible tip of the iceberg.

In this webinar, we pull back the curtain on what really happens during a professional physical red team engagement — from the preparation and intelligence gathering that takes place before anyone approaches a building, through to the decisions, techniques and tradecraft used on the ground.

We’ll explore the different threats organisations may be trying to understand and simulate, and why a physical red team should never simply be viewed as an exercise in “breaking into a building.”

We’ll then take a deeper look at one of the most important skills in physical security testing: door assessment.

Using a typical server room door as our example, we’ll examine nine different ways a red teamer might assess or attempt to defeat that single barrier — and explain why picking the lock is often one of the very last options we would consider.

Along the way, we’ll show how experienced testers think about the entire door system rather than just the lock: the hardware, access control, construction, surrounding environment and human factors that can turn an apparently secure entrance into an unexpected attack path.

If you work in cyber security, physical security, risk, facilities, compliance or red teaming, this session will give you a much clearer understanding of what a professional physical red team actually involves — and what your organisation can learn from one.
